A short overview of a which wands to go for throughout leveling and how to get them on Classic launch (They make a HUGE difference adding up to hours)

Level 22 Excavation Rod (If you get a group for raptor quest in Wetlands)
Level 22 Gravestone Scepter (If you do Blackfathom Deeeps)
Level 26 Excavation Rod (If you didn’t get a group for raptor quest in wetlands)
Level 36 Captain Rackmore's Tiller – Desolace
Level 39 Gnomish Zapper – Arathi
Level 42 Blackbone Wand – City Vendor
Level 54 Smokey's Fireshooter – Eastern Plaguelands
There are other wands available from instances should you do them and random world drops but they are not guaranteed. If you get one that’s more DPS than the ones listed above then that’s a bonus.
Enchanting wands:
To obtain Lesser Magic Wand in time at launch you’ll most likely need to work together with one or more friends. (Unless somebody on your server is particularly fast in making them and selling)
The idea is to pool all the linen you get together early to create Brown Linen Robe with Tailoring. These can in turn be disenchanted to reach the level required to craft Lesser Magic Wand, and later, greater magic wand.
Lesser Magic Wand: ~60 Linen Cloth
- Train Tailoring and Enchanting – 20 copper
- Craft 29 bolts of linen Cloth – 58 Linen Cloth
- Train Brown Linen robe – 45 copper
- Buy 9 Coarse Thread – 90 Copper
- Craft 9 Brown Linen Robe – 27 Bolts of Linen Cloth, 9 Coarse Thread
- Disenchant 9 Brown Linen Robes – 9 Brown Linen Robes
- Buy Copper Rod – 1 Silver 24 Copper
Buy 1 Simple Wood – 38 Copper
- Craft Runed Copper Rod – 1 Copper Rod, 1 Strange Dust, 1 Lesser Magic Essence
- Train Lesser Magic Wand – 1 Silver
- Craft Lesser Magic Wand – 1 Simple Wood, 1 Lesser Magic Essence
Greater Magic Wand: ~120 Linen Cloth (After getting Lesser Magic Wand)
- Continue to craft and disenchant brown Linen Robes
- Disenchant any boe Greens or BoP Greens you’ve picked up along the way (worth 6 linen each)
- Enchant bracers with Minor Health until skill level 70 (If you don’t have bracers, Enchant chest with Lesser Health)
- At 70 Skill train Greater Magic Wand
- Craft Greater Magic Wand (Combine 3 Lesser essences if you didn’t get a greater Essence)
